George Thomas published a paper in Brain showing that genes responsible for processing metals in the brain may be important in Parkinson’s disease. He combined Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) with gene expression data to show that genes which process metals in the brain may be important in neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease.
